Children are naturally active, and their curious nature may result in unwanted accidents. From playground mishaps to sports injuries, the risk of an accidental injury is always present. Getting a personal accident (PA) plan helps protects you financially from accidental injuries and death and helps to cover the costs of medical treatment for your child as a result of these accidents. Some PA plans will also cover for infectious diseases common in young children such as Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease (HFMD), Dengue Fever, Covid-19, and Zika virus.

Our personal accident (PA) plan recommendations for you and your child:

For bigger families: Sompo PA Star

Sompo’s PAStar offers free coverage for an unlimited number of children if both parents are covered under the same PAStar plan. With premiums for 2 adults priced at just S$392.40, this makes PAStar suitable for big families as premiums are fixed at this price regardless of the number of children insured.

PA Star offers 25% of the parent’s coverage for the insured child and provides decent coverage for medical expenses, infectious disease and daily hospital income benefit for both child and adult.

✅ Insured child gets 25% of parent’s coverage

✅ Up to $3,000 benefit limit for 17 infectious diseases

For high coverage that comes with high premiums: Income PA Assurance

If you are looking to get higher coverage for your child, then Income’s PA Assurance plan may be suitable for you. Offering the same coverage for both child and adult, the accidental death coverage for Income PA Assurance starts from $100,000. This is higher than other PA plans where a lower personal accident coverage is typically given for the insured child.

Additionally, Income PA Assurance offers flexibility with the choice for child and parent to be covered on different plans. This means that parents can choose to cover their child for a higher tiered plan should the need arise.

Note: While this plan offers higher coverage for your child, the premium for this plan is also higher and are almost doubled as compared to other PA plans available. Consider this plan only if you want to purchase higher coverage for your child and do not mind paying the higher premiums that come with the plan.
