How does the low cost cancer cover work for you?

Case study: Mr Tan, age 40, a non-smoker

Mr Tan has Medishield and existing life insurance but is worried about his family being financially burdened should he be diagnosed with cancer. For a peace of mind, Mr Tan decides to purchase a cancer policy with $100,000 coverage to complement his existing policies.

Five years later, Mr Tan finds himself unexpectedly diagnosed with early stage lung cancer. His policy then pays him a lump sum of $50,000 to serve as income replacement during his recovery period.

Unfortunately, his condition worsens and he finds himself diagnosed with advanced stage cancer. At this point, he receives another $50,000, the remainder of his sum assured, and his policy lapses.

**This is a simple illustration that does not take into account client risk profiles, financial objectives and other types of commitment.
