Two Factor Authentication (2FA) is a process involving two layers of identity verification. 2FA is an efficient means to drastically reduce occurrences of unauthorised access to your FSMOne account. Besides knowledge of your login ID, and your pre-determined password, the second layer of verification involves a possession factor – a One-Time Password (OTP) sent to your registered mobile number, registered email or retrieved from a 2FA authentication device, which is in your possession.

Placing the 2FA at login ensures that all your personal and financial information held with FSMOne is only available after you have sufficiently verified your identity.

The second factor used by FSMOne will be a One-Time Password (OTP) upon login. Investors who have used internet banking whether with the local banks (DBS, UOB, OCBC) or their overseas counterparts will not be unfamiliar with this process. The OTP can be obtained in 3 ways either via SMS text message, a Digital Token or Email. At each and every login to your FSMOne account, you will be required to enter an additional OTP which is unique and randomly generated. This OTP will be the second factor used to verify your identity and allow access to your account.

To register for 2FA, simply log in to your FSMOne account and follow the instructions provided. Alternatively, you may register your mobile number for 2FA HERE.

Note: We accept both Singapore and Foreign mobile numbers for Two Factor Authentication (2FA)

Step 1: Select your country code and enter the mobile number you would like the One-Time Passwords (OTPs) to be sent to.
Step 2: Click on the blue box, “Click to receive OTP via SMS” – to generate the One-Time Password (OTP)
Step 3: Enter the OTP as instructed to finalise and confirm the registration on the mobile number.

After successfully registering your mobile number, you will be brought to the confirmation page.

After the usual login, you will be brought to 2FA authetication page. On the authentication page, you will need to click on the blue box – “Click to receive OTP via SMS” (or via email) – to generate your One-Time Password (OTP). Please allow at least 30 seconds for the One-Time Password (OTP) to be sent to your mobile device.

If you do not receive your OTP, please click on ‘Resend OTP’ to trigger a second OTP to be sent to you. Key in the OTP in the space provided.

After verifying your identity using the Two Factor Authentication (2FA) process, you will be able to access your FSMOne account as usual.

You may register a foreign mobile number to be used for Two Factor Authentication (2FA). To do so, simply log into your FSMOne account and follow the instructions provided.

2FA OTP has been made compulsory upon every login to your FSMOne account since 30 April 2015. This is to ensure that all your personal and financial information held with FSMOne is only available after you have sufficiently verified your identity.
You can choose to receive OTP via email if you do not own a mobile phone.

Without Digital Token
Please complete the Update Contact Details Form and send it back to us with a scanned copy of your NRIC/Passport via email.

With Digital Token
Please login using the Digital Token, and go to Account Settings > FSM Digital Token (2FA OTP)

Your OTP will only be valid for 2 minutes after which it will expire. If your OTP has expired, you will be required to retrieve for a new OTP to be sent to you by clicking the “Resend OTP” button.

Yes, you can. Please ensure that your registered mobile phone with us is enabled with global roaming service.

Do note that the sending and delivery of SMS text messages may be setup differently by the various mobile service providers in each country. For some countries such as Korea and Japan, there may be an incompatible telecommunications infrastructure. Please check with your mobile service provider to ensure that you are able to receive SMS text messages when you are overseas.

You will not be charged for receiving incoming local SMS OTP. FSMOne will absorb all charges associated with the outgoing SMS OTP sent to investors.

If you are using global roaming service while overseas, you will need to check with your mobile service provider if there are any charges for receiving the SMS OTP.

If you encounter such error message, it could be due to the following reasons:

• The OTP sent to you should contains 6 numbers only. Please check and ensure that you have entered the OTP correctly.
• Your OTP will only be valid for 2 minutes after which it will expire. If your OTP has expired, you will need to request for a new OTP to be sent to you by clicking the “Resend OTP” button.

To protect your FSMOne account from unauthorised access, your account will be blocked if an invalid OTP is entered five consecutive times. Your account will be blocked for 1 hour. In the event that you lost your mobile phone, please call us at +65 6557 2853 to lodge a report. We will suspend the SMS OTP feature on your account temporarily. During this period, the access to your FSMOne account(s) will be blocked. We will only resume the SMS OTP feature upon your request.

If you are still unable to receive your SMS OTP at your current mobile number registered with us, it could be due to the following reasons:
 

• Temporary network congestion or system maintenance
• Out of mobile coverage or full SMS inbox
• SMS filtered as spam by a security app — please mark OTPs as safe
• Overseas network incompatibility (e.g. Japan, Korea)
• Recent change in mobile service provider while keeping the same number

As an alternative, you can complete your 2FA authentication using mobile app authentication or email OTP. Do contact us for further assistance if issue persist.
