Two Factor Authentication (2FA) - Digital Token / Trusted Device
The FSM Digital Token is an enhanced 2FA security software installed in your FSM Mobile App that lets you login to your account and perform account updates without a physical token.
This advanced 2FA security allows for a private, fast and easy login process, allowing you to skip the manual process of typing verification codes (e.g. SMS OTP) and reduce waiting time. Once its enabled, FSM Mobile App will send you a push notification to your Android or Apple device - all you need to do is authorise it. Access is limited to your personal device, so no one else can get into the account.
For devices with biometric features, you have the option of linking the token to use your device's biometric feature as an additional security measure. After linking, you will be required to use your device's biometric recognition whenever you use the token, unless you uninstall the mobile application and relink a new token.
Customers who have previously linked trusted devices to their FSM account will be prompted to register for the new FSM Digital Token, with an option to setup.
Customers who do not wish to setup the FSM Digital Token immediately may select the “Not Now” option to temporarily skip the process. Do note that the message will be prompted when customers login to FSM Mobile App should they remain as a trusted device.
You may link your FSMOne account to any device with the following Operating System (OS) version:
Apple devices: iOS 10 and above
Android devices: Android 6.0 and above e.g. Samsung, HTC, Huawei, etc.
For customers who have enabled biometric feature for Digital Token, please note that any biometric records saved on the device can be used to authenticate the access of your FSMOne account. For security reasons, you are advised not to use a shared device as your Digital Token.
Step 1: Download FSM Mobile App (iOS & Android) on your mobile device
Step 2: Login to your FSMOne account using the FSM Mobile App.
Step 3: Activate a screen lock on your device, biometric feature is optional. You will be prompted to complete the setup. Read and acknowledge the Terms and Conditions before you proceed.
Step 4: For enhanced security, you are required to enter an SMS OTP to authenticate the linking process.
Once the linking is successful, the following details such as Device Name, Linked Date and Last Login (using Digital Token) will be displayed.
You may manage the different account authentication methods at the following sections:
FSMOne Website: Account Settings > FSM Digital Token (2FA OTP)
FSM Mobile App: Menu > Settings > Manage 2FA / Update Mobile Number
Step 1: Login to your account at FSMOne and choose "Login with Digital Token" as 2FA OTP authentication method.
Step 2: Click on “Authenticate Now”.
Step 3: Launch the FSM Mobile App on your device. A push notification will be sent to your device.
Please verify the 6-digit code before you proceed to authorise. Once verified, you will be able to login successfully.
In the event that you do not receive any push notification, you can authenticate your transaction manually with an OTP generated from Digital Token by taking the following steps:
- Tap on Menu > Digital Token on your FSM Mobile App.
- Tap “Generate 6-Digit Pin” to generate a 6 digit OTP.
- Enter the 6 digit OTP as required.
For customers who have enabled biometric feature during digital token setup, for every app login session, you are required to do a biometric scan. Login FSM Mobile App using your Login User ID and Password, you will be prompted to authenticate 2FA. Once verified, you will be able to login successfully
Yes, you are allowed to set up FSM Digital Token on 5 mobile devices.
Please note that any biometric records saved on the device can be used to authenticate the access of your FSMOne account. For security reasons, you are advised not to use a shared device as your Digital Token.
You can link a maximum of 5 different FSMOne accounts to your Digital Token.
From FSMOne Website
After login, go to Account Settings > FSM Digital Token (2FA OTP), and tap on the Digital Token tab. Select the device to unlink.
From FSM Mobile App
After login, go to Menu > Settings > Manage 2FA / Update Mobile Number. Tap on the ‘Trash can’ icon to unlink the device.
Yes, any biometrics record saved on your mobile device prior to the linking can be used to authenticate the login access to your FSMOne account.
To safeguard your interest, it is recommended that you only link your device with your own biometrics stored as a Digital Token, as any face or fingerprint stored on your mobile device can be used to access your FSM Mobile App.
Please note that you have the option of linking the token to use your device's biometric feature as an additional security measure. After linking, you will be required to use your device's biometric recognition whenever you use the token, unless you uninstall the mobile application and relink a new token.
Changing of your screen lock / code on your device will not affect the existing linkage. You can continue to use your device as the Digital Token as per normal.
Depending on the Operating System (OS) of your Digital Token, the existing linkage may become invalid and you may have to re-link your device again.
For security reasons, the existing linkage of the Digital Token will become invalid and you will have to re-link your device again. Upon successful setup, the Digital Token on your previous mobile device will be disabled automatically.
Still not receiving push notification?
If you have uninstalled FSM Mobile App previously and reinstalled the app again, the previous linkage has become invalid. You will have to re-link your Digital Token to your FSMOne account.
Please unlink the previous device from:
FSMOne Website: Account Settings > FSM Digital Token (2FA OTP)
FSM Mobile App: Menu > Settings > Manage 2FA / Update Mobile Number
You can manually authenticate your login with a manual OTP by taking the following steps:
- Tap on Menu > Digital Token on your FSM Mobile App.
- Tap “Generate 6-Digit Pin” to generate a 6 digit OTP.
- Enter the 6 digit OTP as required.
In the unlikely event that the Digital Token authentication service is down, please proceed to login with SMS OTP.
Code expired error message
The code is valid for 60 seconds upon generation. If the authentication is not done within 60 seconds, this will result in a failed authentication. Please proceed to tap on “Authenticate Now” again.
Error message after entering the correct OTP code
Please verify that the system date and time settings on your device are set accurately to local time. The OTP generated synchronises each time you login to your account.
Do not authorise the request if you find the OTP is not matched. For security reasons, please change your login password ASAP.
Please proceed to login to your FSM account to unlink the FSM Digital Token ASAP.
From FSMOne Website
After logged into your account, please go to Account Settings > FSM Digital Token (2FA OTP).
From FSM Mobile App
After logged into your account, please go to Menu > Settings > Manage 2FA / Update Mobile Number. Tap on the ‘Trash can’ icon to unlink the device.
Alternatively, you can call our hotline at 6557 2853 and we will assist you in deactivating your FSM Digital Token on your device.
FSMOne Web Login (Digital Token with biometric feature)
iOS Digital Token: When verifying the 6-digit code on your Digital Token, after 5 unsuccessful biometric attempts, the biometric feature will be deactivated temporarily. To reactivate the biometric feature, please activate your screen lock, enter your passcode, relaunch the mobile app and try again.
Android Digital Token: When verifying the 6-digit code on your Digital Token, after 5 wrong or unmatched biometric attempts, your biometric feature will be deactivated temporarily. You may request for a new verification code from the website after 30 secs and retry again. Alternatively, you may switch to SMS OTP to access your account.
FSM Mobile App login (Digital Token with biometric feature)
iOS Digital Token: After 2 unsuccessful biometric attempts, you will be redirected to login with SMS OTP.
Android Digital Token: After 1 unsuccessful biometric attempts, you will be redirected to login with SMS OTP.
FSM Mobile App login (Biometric Login)
iOS Digital Token: After 5 unsuccessful biometric attempts, the biometric feature will be deactivated temporarily. To reactivate the biometric feature, please activate your screen lock, enter your passcode, relaunch the mobile app and try again.
Android Digital Token: After 5 unsuccessful biometric attempts, the biometric feature will be deactivated temporarily. To reactivate the biometric feature, please activate your screen lock, enter your passcode, relaunch the mobile app and try again.
For web login, you can manually authenticate your login with a manual OTP by taking the following steps:
- Tap on Menu > Digital Token on your FSM Mobile App.
- Tap “Generate 6-Digit Pin” to generate a 6 digit OTP.
- Enter the 6 digit OTP as required.
Please ensure that you have enabled push notification and allowed permissions for FSM Mobile App to send you such notifications.
It could be due to the following reasons:
- Device notification setting is disabled
- Your FSM Mobile app is deleted
- Your FSM Mobile app is not updated to the latest version
- Your mobile device is not connected to WIFI or data network
