Criminals are hijacking online brokerage accounts in Japan and some of the biggest brokers including Rakuten Securities and SBI Securities have reported unauthorised trading on their platforms.
At FSM, we take cybersecurity seriously and have measures in place to protect both you and your FSM account. Here are 3 important tips to help keep your account safe.
- Never provide your personal, bank account related information, or any sensitive personal information such as login passwords or one-time passwords (OTP) to unsolicited callers.
If in doubt, hang up immediately and call us at +65 6557 2853 to verify and seek further clarification. Always stay vigilant and beware of phishing emails, websites and mobile applications. - Secure your FSMOne account by
- Not allowing others to access, operate or control your account
- Changing your password regularly
- Not using the same password for FSM and your email. Using the same password across multiple accounts means that if one is breached, attackers can gain access to your other accounts as well.
- Using two-factor authentication (“2FA”) when accessing your FSM account.
- If you suspect someone has unauthorised access to your FSMOne account, you can change your password or update your 2FA method. Please reach out to us to suspend your FSMOne account if you suspect that unauthorised transactions are occurring.
Watch out for offers that are too good to be true and require urgent action. The simplest way to protect yourself from phishers and scammers is to avoid providing any personal information over the phone, online or any forms of communication method.
Please report to FSMOne immediately if you think your account has been compromised.
