Document Requirements for Unincorporated

Requirement for Sole Proprietor

Corporate Account Opening Form
Photocopies and certified true copies by persons having executive authority of NRIC/passport of
- All persons authorised to operate the investment account ie. authorised signatories
- All persons having executive authority to give instructions
- All beneficial owners ¹, if any
Passport copy submission must be accompanied by an additional supporting document for verification of residential address. For mailing address which differs from residential address, an additional document is required to support the mailing address and a reason must be provided.
Copy of Bizfile not later than 3 months from the date of application (Bizfile)
Specimen signatures of all persons authorised to operate the investment account
For entities set up outside of Singapore, a certification by a Notary Public or lawyer is required

Requirement for Partnership and Unincorporated Bodies

Trust deed
Deed of retirement and appointment of trustees, where applicable
Certificate of incumbency, certificate of good standing or share register for trusts incorporated in tax haven countries, for eg. British Virgin Islands.
For trusts set up outside of Singapore, all documents must be certified by a Notary Public or lawyer.

Explanations

¹ Beneficial Owners

The natural person who ultimately owns or controls the customer or the natural person on whose behalf a transaction is conducted or business relations are established and includes any person who exercises ultimate effective control over a legal person or legal arrangement.

To determine whether a shareholder is a beneficial owner, a threshold of more than 25% may be applied, taking into account any aggregated ownership for companies with cross-shareholdings.

² Connected Parties

in relation to a legal person (other than a partnership), means any director or any natural person having executive authority in the legal person;
in relation to a legal person that is a partnership, means any partner or manager; and
in relation to a legal arrangement, means any natural person having executive authority in the legal arrangement

The investment account will be created upon receipt of the necessary documentation. An e-mail will be sent once the account is ready. To access the account, a login ID and password are required. By default, the login ID will be the company's Registration Number. You will receive the password by mail within a week after the e-mail.
