Looking to travel to Japan for the cherry blossoms?

Traveling to Japan for the cherry blossom season? Don’t forget your travel insurance! With Sompo’s travel insurance, we think that you can benefit from these additional features that can enhance your travel experience in Japan:

  • Cashless Outpatient Service in Japan
  • All you have to do is to call Sompo’s Assistance Company when this cashless outpatient service is required. They will inform you if your request is approved and assist with the arrangement for an outpatient medical appointment at a medical facility within their accredited network. This is especially helpful in a country like Japan where travellers may not speak Japanese, and would need additional assistance to locate a clinic.

Moreover, no upfront payment is needed for outpatient treatment costs at their medical facility for approved requests. As the clinic liaises directly with Sompo for claims, clients can enjoy their trip without worrying about administrative issues such as having to file their claim(s) with the insurer.

For a change of scenery from Tokyo, you can take short road trips to Hakone or Lake Kawaguchi to enjoy the views of Mount Fuji. Alternatively, head north to Hokkaido for a longer road trip.

  • Highest Rental Vehicle Excess Cover
  • If you plan to rent a vehicle for your road trip, consider getting Sompo’s Travel insurance for a comprehensive coverage of your rental vehicles. Sompo is the first insurer to cover rental vehicle windscreen and tyres and their travel insurance also offers the highest rental vehicle excess cover of up to $3,000!
