With SpaceX set to begin trading this Friday under the ticker SPCX (please note: this is SPCX, not SPCE), we want to ensure all FSM Global clients are well-prepared for what is expected to be a landmark listing with high volumes and potentially extreme volatility.
Please read the following carefully before placing any orders.
Correct Ticker: SPCX
The SpaceX stock will trade under the symbol SPCX. Please do not confuse this with SPCE (Virgin Galactic). Double-check your order entry before submitting.
Key Things to Note
1. Expected Opening Time (Singapore Time)
Most IPOs begin trading after 11:00 PM SGT (equivalent to 11:00 AM EST), as market makers need time to organise the opening price. Due to anticipated high activity, SPCX may be delayed beyond 11:00 PM SGT.
2. Order Price Thresholds
There are limits on how far your order price can deviate from the current market. Specifically, attempts to BUY at a price more than 15% above the current offer, or SELL at a price more than 15% below the current bid, may be rejected by the market centre.
3. Be Cautious with Market Orders After Open
Once SPCX begins trading, market orders carry significant risk. Execution prices may be far higher or lower than expected given the anticipated volatility. We strongly advise using limit orders wherever possible.
4. Trading Halts May Take Place
SPCX may be subject to multiple trading halts throughout the day due to large price swings in either direction. Market orders will be automatically rejected during a trading halt.
5. Expect High Volatility and System Load
Given the unprecedented interest in this IPO, please be aware that market data latency for SPCX may be higher than usual, and broader trading systems may experience heavier-than-normal load. We aim to provide a seamless trading experience, but we seek your understanding if there is higher latency on that day.
6. Understand the Risks — Don't Chase the Hype Blindly
We recently published an article, "Should You Invest in SpaceX on the First Trading Day?" Please read it to better understand the risks of investing in the company.
7. Fund your USD Cash Account or USD Auto-Sweep Account
If you are keen to invest in US equities, it is always good to fund your account in advance. At FSM, we offer both a USD Cash Account and a USD Auto-Sweep Account, both of which offer attractive yields on idle balances. So even if you are not actively investing in equities, you continue to earn yield while waiting. Find out how much you can earn from the USD Cash Account and USD Auto-Sweep Account here.

9. For Accredited Investors – Margin Financing Available
We have allocated a loan-to-value (LTV) ratio of 70% for SPCX, and accredited investors may use margin to purchase SPCX. Please ensure you understand the risks of using leverage when investing. To find out more, please visit our product financing page.
