About the Fund Managers
First Sentier Bridge is a feeder fund which invests all or substantially all of its assets in the First Sentier Asian Equity Plus Fund (for equities) and the First Sentier Asian Quality Bond Fund (for fixed income).
The equity portion is managed by Martin Lau, while the fixed income portion is managed by Nigel Foo. The fund is supported by twenty investment professionals based in Hong Kong and Singapore in the equity team, alongside eight investment professionals in the fixed income team.
The equity portion team applies research-driven bottom-up selection, focuses on quality companies, carries out strong valuation discipline, invests in long-term perspective and acts conservative with an absolute return mind-set. Meanwhile, the Asian Fixed Income team’s investment philosophy is driven by three key principles of flexibility, research and risk management. The team’s investment process is a combination of both top-down and bottom up approaches that enables the team to focus and prioritise pertinent risks and opportunities to deliver long term consistent risk adjusted performance.
