Dear All,

I am interested to know the downside to investing in Fidelity Asian High Yield Fund.

With it being advertised to give average annual dividend yield of 6.5% and monthly payouts, its certainly very attractive.

But what is its downside ? I mean compare to say, DBS Enhanced Income Fund, is it advisable to "park" our money in this fund as we wait for other investment opportunities.

It this fund almost 100% capital guaranteed ? If we read the articles, DBS Enhanced Income is almost 100% capital guaranteed, what about this fund ?

please enlighten me

Risks of losing your capital is surely there for HY bonds (in the case of payment default by the lender). However, in the high inflation --> potential higher interest rates environment in H2/2011, the yield rate potentially goes up as central banks worldwide increase their prime rates.

In my case, I always keep 20-30% on income investments a.k.a bonds including HY bonds at any given time. It helps in keeping my portfolio from dropping further when equities are going thru temporary corrections like at the moment.

Has anybody noticed that the bid price for the Fidelity Euro High Yield Fund has dropped in the last one month ? Any opinions ?
